Esse é um post rápido apra ensinar como converter um vídeo mp4 para flv, tudo que você precisa é do ffmpeg instalado em seu sistema.

Para instalá-lo no gentoo:

1	emerge ffmpeg

Para converter o vídeo é só utilizar o comando:

1	ffmpeg -i video_mp4.mp4 -deinterlace -s 384x288 -aspect 4:3 -b 512k -y -ar 44100 -ac 1 video_flv.flv

PHP: Call to undefined function: session_start()

A função session_start() é uma função do php que preserva os dados durante uma sessão, sendo passada através de uma variável GET ou de um cookie. Sua muito útil, embora existam outras formas de se preservar os dados.

Uma solução seria utilizar a USE flag session na hora de compilar o php:

1	# USE="session" emerge php

ou melhor, adicionar ao seu package.use, para não ter que se preocupar futuramente:

Mais um probleminha após um emerge -uDv world, um preço justo pra um gnome atualizadíssimo

Logo na inicialização do gnome o seguinte erro é apresentado:

There was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon.
Some things, such as themes, sounds, or background settings may not work correctly.
The last error message was:
Launch helper exited with unknown return code 127
GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next time you log in.

como consequência muitas funções do gnome ficam desconfiguradas(icones, temas, sons, teclado, etc) e ainda sem a possibilidade de alterá-las.

Primeiro vamos ver porque o gnome-settings-daemon não está conseguindo iniciar.

Fala galera,

Estava instalando virtualbox, pra instalar um windows xp aqui

1	emerge virtualbox

a instalação ocorreu sem nenhum problema, mas quando eu tentei iniciar a instalação do windows a mensagem de erro que é o título desse post apareceu. Procurando não tomar mais o tempo de vocês a solução foi só carregar o módulo do virtualbox:

1	modprobe vboxdrv

Caso você atualize o kernel não esqueça de reinstalar o modulo para o kernel novo:

1	emerge -1 app-emulation/virtualbox-modules
