These are the packages that would be merged, <span style="color: #000000; font-weight: bold;">in</span> order:
&nbsp;
Calculating dependencies \
<span style="color: #000000; font-weight: bold;">!!!</span> Multiple versions within a single package slot have been
<span style="color: #000000; font-weight: bold;">!!!</span> pulled into the dependency graph:
&nbsp;
dev-libs<span style="color: #000000; font-weight: bold;">/</span>xerces-c:<span style="color: #000000;">0</span>
&nbsp;
<span style="color: #7a0874; font-weight: bold;">&#40;</span><span style="color: #ff0000;">'installed'</span>, <span style="color: #ff0000;">'/'</span>, <span style="color: #ff0000;">'dev-libs/xerces-c-2.7.0-r1'</span>, <span style="color: #ff0000;">'nomerge'</span><span style="color: #7a0874; font-weight: bold;">&#41;</span> pulled <span style="color: #000000; font-weight: bold;">in</span> by

&nbsp;
&nbsp;
It may be possible to solve this problem by using package.mask to
prevent one of those packages from being selected. However, it is also
possible that conflicting dependencies exist such that they are
impossible to satisfy simultaneously. If such a conflict exists <span style="color: #000000; font-weight: bold;">in</span> the
dependencies of two different packages, <span style="color: #000000; font-weight: bold;">then</span> those packages can not be
installed simultaneously.
&nbsp;
For <span style="color: #c20cb9; font-weight: bold;">more</span> information, see MASKED PACKAGES section <span style="color: #000000; font-weight: bold;">in</span> the emerge <span style="color: #c20cb9; font-weight: bold;">man</span> page
or refer to the Gentoo Handbook.</pre></td></tr></table></div>

<p>pra resolver:</p>

<div class="wp_syntax"><table><tr><td class="line_numbers"><pre>1
</pre></td><td class="code"><pre class="bash" style="font-family:monospace;"><span style="color: #7a0874; font-weight: bold;">echo</span> <span style="color: #ff0000;">&quot;=dev-libs/xerces-c-2.8*&quot;</span> <span style="color: #000000; font-weight: bold;">&gt;&gt;</span> <span style="color: #000000; font-weight: bold;">/</span>etc<span style="color: #000000; font-weight: bold;">/</span>portage<span style="color: #000000; font-weight: bold;">/</span>package.mask</pre></td></tr></table></div>

<p>Logo na inicialização do gnome o seguinte erro é apresentado:</p>
<blockquote><p>There was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon.<br />
Some things, such as themes, sounds, or background settings may not work correctly.<br />
The last error message was:<br />
Launch helper exited with unknown return code 127<br />
GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next time you log in.</p></blockquote>
